It is an object of the present invention to provide a visibility securing material capable of securing a surgical field for a certain period of time, ensuring visibility that does not hinder the transmission of light and can perform delicate manipulation satisfactorily. The visibility maintaining material of the present invention includes a gel-like viscoelastic body and has a storage modulus of 40 Pa to 700 Pa at the time of use.
