An enhanced animal mattress with burrowing feature includes a cradling member, a cushion cover, and a cushion base. The cushion base is positioned within the cushion cover where the cushion cover includes a top layer, a bottom layer, and a side panel. The cradling member is positioned above the cushion cover and the cushion base and can be connected to either the top layer or cushion cover and the cushion base. Depending on the connection between the cradling member and the cushion cover, the cushion base may or may not be removed from the cushion cover.
