PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent exploded pieces from scattering in a device cabinet and causing a significant damage, even if a lamp explodes, and to reliably cool a discharge lamp inside a reflector with a very simple structure.
SOLUTION: A lamp unit (6) includes an oblong reflector (3) fitted with a discharge lamp (4), and a reflectors opening (3a) with an explosionproof translucent board (5) attached thereto. At a place where the lamp unit (6) is installed, a partition board (11) is disposed that partitions a cabinet (8) into a front side space (S1) which is formed with a cooling air intake (12) and a rear side space (S2) having an exhaust fan (13). The center portion of an explosionproof translucent board (5) facing the tip of the discharge lamp (4) is formed with a ventilating hole (16) for causing the front side space S1 to communicate with the inside of the reflector, and a ventilation notch (17) for causing the inside of the reflector to communicate with the rear side space (S2) is formed at least at one place of a periphery that is abutted by the partition board (11).
