An object information acquiring apparatus, comprising: a plurality of detecting elements which detect an acoustic wave generated from an object irradiated with light and convert the acoustic wave into detection signals； a signal determining unit which determines a detection signal detected by a detecting element which is not in acoustic contact with the object, of the plurality of detecting elements； a signal acquisition unit which generates a corrected detection signal by deleting at least a region which is not based on an acoustic wave generated from the interior of the object, from the determined detection signal； and an image processor which forms image data of the object from a detection signal detected by a detecting element which is in acoustic contact with the object and from the corrected detection signal.La présente invention concerne un appareil d'acquisition d'informations relatives à un objet, qui comprend : une pluralité d'éléments de détection qui détectent une onde acoustique générée par un objet irradié de lumière et convertissent l'onde acoustique en signaux de détection ； une unité de détermination du signal qui détermine un signal de détection détecté par un élément de détection, de la pluralité d'éléments de détection, qui ne se trouve pas en contact acoustique avec l'objet, une unité d'acquisition du signal qui génère un signal de détection corrigé par suppression d'au moins une région qui n'est pas basée sur une onde acoustique générée de l'intérieur de l'objet, du signal de détection déterminé ； et un processeur d'image qui forme des données d'image relatives à l'objet à partir d'un signal de détection détecté par un élément de détection qui se trouve en contact acoustique avec l'objet et à partir du signal de détection corrigé.
