PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire preventing a coil body from being separated from a distal end of a guide wire and further, capable of improving safety of the guide wire.SOLUTION: A guide wire 1A includes a core shaft 10A including a spirally-formed coil part 12A, and a coil body 20A is disposed at a proximal side of the coil part 12A. The coil part 12A has a portion, a coil outside diameter d1 of which is larger than a coil inside diameter d2 of the coil body 20A, so as to prevent the coil body 20A from being separated from the distal end of the guide wire 1A. Further, there is no portion to which stress is concentrated in the distal end of the guide wire 1A so as to suppress breakage of the distal end of the guide wire 1A, thus improving the safety.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
