PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide medical devices for engaging tissue, e.g., for clipping tissue, closing a perforation or performing hemostasis.SOLUTION: A medical device 140 comprises: a housing 142； first and second jaws 144, 146 pivotable relative to the housing； a driver 148 engaged with the proximal ends of the first and second jaws 144, 146； a biasing strip 190 positioned between the first and second jaws 144, 146 to bias them away from or toward each other； and an elongate drive wire 122 for longitudinal movement of the driver 148.
