PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which has an excretion-part middle and high area long in a longitudinal direction and wide, is excellent in absorption performance, and is excellent in lateral leakage prevention because three-dimensional guards are hardly fallen to a center side in a width direction.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 is such that an absorbent core 4 has an excretion-part middle and high area 40 thicker than an area surrounding its circumference in an excretion-part facing part B, the excretion-part middle and high area 40 has a shape long in a longitudinal direction of the absorbent core 4, and the maximum width thereof is equal to or more than the half of the width of the absorbent core. The absorbent article 1 is provided with a pair of three-dimensional guards 10 on both sides facing each other across the excretion-part middle and high area 40 in the excretion-part facing part B. The three-dimensional guards 10 have fixation ends 22 where sheets for forming the three-dimensional guards are fixedly formed on a skin side sheet 2, and are structured so that sides of free edges 23 rise to the skin side of a wearer from the fixation ends 22.
