PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel and its assembling method in which assembly and disassembly (maintenance) of one-way clutch can easily be performed while ensuring waterproof properties and dust resistance of the one-way clutch, and the distance between the bearings can also be ensured for a long time without causing an increase in size of bearings and the increase of the number of parts.SOLUTION: A fishing reel concerning one embodiment of the present invention includes: a drive shaft 8 rotatably provided in a reel body 1, engaged with a drive gear 7 rotating in conjunction with handle operation, and integrally rotated with a rotor 3 having a fishing line guide part 3d and the one-way clutch 10 provided between the drive shaft 8 and the reel body 1, permitting the one-way rotation of the drive shaft 8, and preventing the rotation in the other direction.
