PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental treating apparatus which easily detects whether or not connection failure is caused on contact members which electrically connect a cutting tool or a holder holding the cutting tool with a conductive body mounted inside a hand piece body part.SOLUTION: The dental treating apparatus includes a head unit 2 having a holder for holding a cutting tool 5 to be drivable, a hand piece 1 connected to the head unit 2 and transmitting power to drive the cutting tool 5, and a controller 11 for controlling the drive of the cutting tool 5.
