PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preventive and therapeutic agent for Alzheimers disease, which tremendously improve efficiency of A&beta decomposition in the brain to remarkably suppress the development and progress of Alzheimers disease.

SOLUTION: The preventive and therapeutic agent for Alzheimers disease includes lipoprotein lipase (LPL) as an active ingredient. The preventive and therapeutic agent for Alzheimers disease is administered in the brain, whereby the LPL promotes inclusion of A&beta into cells of microglia, astrocyte, or the like in the brain, and the included A&beta is decomposed rapidly in the cells, so that the efficiency of A&beta decomposition in the brain is tremendously improved, and accumulation of the A&beta in the brain is remarkably suppressed.
