A catheter has a hollow shaft, a tubular mesh member joined to the distal end side of the hollow shaft and capable of being expanded and contracted in a radial direction, an expansion / contraction function part for expanding and contracting the mesh member, and a distal end side of the mesh member. A joined distal end fixing member and a suction device attachment portion that is provided on the base end side of the hollow shaft and that attaches a suction device for making a negative pressure inside the hollow shaft are provided.
