The present invention relates to an alcohol-free liquid pharmaceutical composition comprising thyme liquid extract and primula root liquid extract and optionally a non-alcoholic solvent and excipients, preferably chosen from sucrose, invert sugar, water and mixtures thereof. The alcohol-free liquid pharmaceutical composition of present invention intends preferably to have the same herbal fingerprint as Bronchicum Elixir alcohol-containing composition.The invention also discloses methods for preparing said alcohol-free liquid pharmaceutical composition.The invention relates also to a thyme and primula root liquid extract that may be obtained according to one of the methods described and to the use of the said thyme and primula root liquid extract for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition.
