To provide an MRI apparatus where a band width minimizing an echo interval is set easily.
SOLUTION: The MRI apparatus 100 images a patient using an echo planar imaging method. The MRI apparatus 100 uses the number of sampling xres in a frequency-encoding direction and an imaging visual field FOVx in the frequency-encoding direction to calculate the band width BW minimizing the echo interval ESP according to a relational expression (5) regulating a relation between the echo interval ESP and the band width BW. A minimum echo interval is determined by the band width BW.
