PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon coating method enabling appropriately setting a thickness and form type of a drug to be coated on a balloon.SOLUTION: A balloon coating method for forming a coat layer 32 containing a water insoluble drug on the external surface of a balloon 30 of a balloon catheter 10 so as to give regular ununiformity includes: a coating step of bringing into contact with the external surface of the balloon 30, an end part side formed with an opening 95 for discharging a coating solution of a tubular dispensing tube 94 formed of fluororesin, for supplying the coating solution containing the water insoluble drug and a solvent, while rotating the balloon 30 with a shaft center of the balloon 30 as a center； and coating while exposing the balloon 30 from a gap of the coating solution to the external surface of the balloon 30 by discharging the coating solution from the opening 95 while moving the dispensing tube 94 to the balloon 30 in a shaft center direction of the balloon 30.【課題】バルーンにコーティングされる薬剤の厚さや形態型などを適切に設定可能なバルーンコーティング方法を提供する。【解決手段】バルーンカテーテル１０のバルーン３０の外表面に水不溶性薬剤を含むコート層３２を規則的な不均一性を有するように形成するバルーンコーティング方法であって、バルーン３０を当該バルーン３０の軸心を中心に回転させつつ、水不溶性薬剤および溶媒を含むコーティング溶液を供給するためのフッ素系樹脂により形成される管状のディスペンシングチューブ９４のコーティング溶液を吐出する開口部９５が形成される端部側をバルーン３０の外表面に接触させ、ディスペンシングチューブ９４をバルーン３０の軸心方向へ当該バルーン３０に対して移動させつつ、開口部９５からコーティング溶液を吐出させてバルーン３０の外表面にコーティング溶液の隙間からバルーン３０を露出させつつ塗布する塗布工程を有する。【選択図】図５
