PURPOSE: A novel F3'H gene relating to biosynthesis of cyanidin isolated from Dendranthema grandiforum is provided to develop novel Dendranthema grandiforum species. CONSTITUTION: A polypeptide having flavonoid 3'-hydroxylase(F3'H) activity, mutant thereof, or active fragment thereof includes: a polypeptide encoded by cDNA of sequence numbers 1, and 10-14； a polypeptide encoded by a polynucleotide hybridized with cDNA of sequence numbers 10-14 under a severe condition； a polypeptide encoded by gDNA of sequence numbers 2, and 15-19； a polypeptide encoded by a polynucleotide hybrized with the gDNA under a severe condition； or a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence of sequence numbers 3 and 20-24. The polypeptide, mutant thereof, or active fragment thereof is derived from Dendranthema grandiforum.본 발명은 국화(Dendranthemagrandiforum； Chrysanthemum)에서 분리된 시아니딘(Cyanidin)의 생합성에 관련된 신규 유전자에 관한 것으로, 야생형 또는 화색 돌연변이체 국화로부터 분리한 신규 플라보노이드 3'-하이드록실라아제(flavonoid 3'-hydroxylase； F3'H)에 관한 것이다. 상기 분리된 신규 F3'H 유전자는 다른 다양한 식물 유래 F3'H 유전자와 서열에 차이가 있으므로, 국화의 화색에 관련된 유전자원을 제공하였고, 상기 유전자원은 새로운 국화품종의 개발에 유용하게 이용될 수 있다.
