PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which can be controlled in accordance with detailed movement of a probe.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes: a reception part 20 generating a reception signal on the basis of ultrasonic waves reflected on a subject 18 and received by a probe 14 a reception range detection part 74 detecting a reception range where ultrasonic waves are received, of a subject contact surface having the probe 14, on the basis of the reception signal and a contact determination part 42 determining whether or not the probe 14 gets in touch with the subject 18.
