It is estimated that one person in India dies due to a heart attack every thirty seconds. While adequate facilities exist in urban areas, rural and remote areas do not even have basic electro-cardiogram (ECG) machines or specialists who can read them. With them in mind we have invented a cost effective three lead ECG system. An ECG (Electrocardiography) is a widely used for monitoring of cardiac activity. Since cardiologists are well-trained to operate 12-lead ECG system, a number of cardiologists are using such number of electrodes. Also the 12 lead ECG system is a complex one with a number of wires all over a person. Our goal is to design a wireless ECG system which renders conventional 12-lead ECG information. We have invented a 3-lead wireless ECG system which not only reduces the complexity of the present system but also keeps a hold on the accuracy. Taking these features into the picture we have designed the system in such a manner that it is wearable, wireless device which transmits the information it has gathered to an Android application which does the further processing.
