A trunk opening and a pair of leg openings are formed in the absorbent article. In the vertical direction, a first joined section and a second joined section to which at least the absorbent body and the sheet member are joined are provided on one side and the other side in the longitudinal direction respectively, said first and second joined sections being inclined towards the outside in the horizontal direction from the trunk opening side towards the leg openings. When the belt section is stretched in the horizontal direction, the first joined section has an area positioned further on the other side than the absorbent body.
