The present invention relates to a method for determining a position of an endoscope. At first, a position determination assistance device is installed on an arm of a robot to make an end portion of a position fitting member of the position determination assistance device and a global rotation center, defined by the arm of the robot, match. Subsequently, the endoscope is fixated and installed to penetrate the inside of the location determination assistance device. Afterwards, a position fitting member of the position determination assistance device is separated to make an end portion of the endoscope and the global rotation center of the arm of the robot match. At this point, a position can be determined by installing the endoscope in a body cavity guide tube to penetrate the body cavity guide tube.
