Carrier fluid compositions and their use in processes for reducing the concentration of persistent organic pollutants, such as polychlorodibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), polychlorodibenzo-p-furans (PCDDF), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and pesticides, such as chlorinated hydrocarbons, chlorinated toxaphenes and camphenes, in fish oil are disclosed.
