PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space potential generator capable of reducing the size of the entire apparatus and generating an electric field in a wide range and a freshness maintaining device using the space potential generator. A space potential generator according to the present invention includes a transformer formed by magnetically coupling a primary coil and a secondary coil, and one terminal of the secondary coil for adjusting a voltage in the secondary coil. A feedback control circuit for returning to one terminal of the primary coil, an output control means provided at the other terminal of the secondary coil in order to apply low-frequency vibration to the output of the secondary coil, and a second through the output control means. Discharge means made of a conductive material provided at the other terminal of the secondary coil, and discharging static electricity into the space from the discharge means provided at the other terminal of the secondary coil.
