SOLUTION: The humectant, alginase activity promotor, skin roughness-preventing and improving agent, anti-inflammatory agent, skin-whitening agent, antioxidant and anti-aging agent are provided by containing an extract of a plant belonging to the genus Neolitsea as an active ingredient. As the plant belonging to the genus Neolitsea, it is preferable to use Neolitsea sericea.
