PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of image visibility when a plurality of annotations are placed on a single image.SOLUTION: A plurality of layers 120, 130 and 140 are generated for a displayed image. An annotation is placed on each of the layers, and the layers 120, 130 and 140 are superimposed and displayed on an image 101. At least one or more division lines 110 are set in a medical image and the medical image is divided into at least two or more division areas along the division lines 110. Then, the layers 120, 130 and 140 are generated for each of the division areas for placing the annotations which are additional information about a portion contained in the division areas.
