PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood purification device which easily automates a priming process and which avoids mixing of air into the side of a blood channel during priming when using a wet-type blood purifying means which is filled with a filler liquid beforehand and to provide a priming method thereof.
SOLUTION: The blood purification device performs: a first priming process wherein the filling liquid with which the blood flow channel of a dialyzer 3 is filled is guided to an artery-side blood circuit 1 through a blood feeding port 3a and a portion from the connection part P to the blood feeding port 3a of the dialyzer 3 in the artery-side circuit 1 is filled with the filling liquid or a liquid including the filling liquid and a second priming process of, after the first priming process, driving forwardly a blood pump 4 while keeping a state where the blood feeding port 3a of the dialyzer 3 faces upward and guiding to a blood circuit, the priming liquid from a priming liquid feeding line Lc.
