PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device suitable to obtain a correction signal for removing fixed pattern noise.SOLUTION: An imaging device includes a photoelectric converter which is arranged on a substrate and accumulates charges corresponding to an incident light amount, a vertical transfer unit for transferring the accumulated charges in a vertical direction, a horizontal transfer unit for transferring charges transferred by the vertical transfer unit in a horizontal direction, image signal generating means for driving the vertical transfer unit and the horizontal transfer unit and generating an image signal based on the transferred charges, correction signal generating means for driving the horizontal transfer unit without driving the vertical transfer unit and generating a correction signal based on the transferred charges, image signal processing means for correcting the image signal by using the correction signal, and substrate side potential changing means for changing the height of a potential barrier between the substrate and the photoelectric conversion unit.
