The ear tag includes a male pin (2) having a first end and a second end (17) configured to penetrate an animal&rsquos ear having a locking shoulder (26) adjacent the second end. The first end of the pin (2) is configured to be coupled to a first portion of a single piece moulded panel (3) allowing free rotation of the pin. The panel (3) includes a female portion (5) with an opening (6) to receive the second end (17) of the male pin including the locking shoulder (26) and a panel body (4) extending from the first portion to the female portion (5).
