PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical apparatus for positioning within a tissue tract accessing a body cavity.SOLUTION: A surgical apparatus for positioning within a tissue tract accessing an underlying body cavity comprises a seal anchor member comprising a compressible material. The seal anchor member is adapted to transition between a first expanded condition and a second compressed condition. The first expanded condition facilitates securing the seal anchor member into the tissue tract and in substantial sealed relation with tissue surfaces defining the tissue tract. The second compressed condition facilitates at least partial insertion of the seal anchor member into the tissue tract.
