The shell layer (119) includes at least one recessed portion (122) between a first unrecessed portion (120a) and a second unrecessed portion (120b). The at least one recessed portion (122) is a thinner section of the shell layer (119) that is configured to vaporize the pre-vapor formulation to generate a vapor.
