Disclosed are methods for preventing canine diseases in a dog caused by 1) canine distemper (CD) virus, 2) canine adenovirus type 2 (CAV-2), 3) canine parainfluenza (CPI) virus, 4) canine parvovirus (CPV) and 5) canine coronavirus (CCV). The method comprises administering a vaccine that consists of one or more viral antigens from CD virus, CAV-2, CPI, CPV and CCV. The vaccine is administered either (i) subcutaneously or orally in a first dose, orally in a second dose, orally in a third dose and orally in an annual dose or (ii) subcutaneously in a first and second dose, orally in a third dose and orally in an annual dose.
