PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article wherein an adhesive agent does not contact the skin of a wearer and wings do not turn up, and a method for manufacturing the absorbent article.SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 includes: a body 5 and a pair of wings 7 extended in the lateral direction from both side edges 6 of the body 5. The body has a longitudinal direction (Y-axis direction) and a transverse direction (X-axis direction), and includes a liquid-permeable front surface sheet, a liquid-impermeable rear surface sheet disposed on the clothes side, and a liquid-retaining absorber interposed between the front surface sheet and the rear surface sheet. Each wing 7 includes an adhesive part 22 and a releasable sheet 24 for covering the adhesive part 22 on the clothes side of the wing 7. The adhesive part 22 is present to an end 7a on the outer side in the lateral direction of the wing 7, and an end on the outer side in the lateral direction of the releasable sheet 24 matches the end 7a on the outer side in the lateral direction of the wing 7.
