The present invention relates to a cylindrical expandable stent comprising a plurality of undulating band-like elements, the band-like elements having alternating peaks and troughs, the band-like elements aligned on a common longitudinal axis to define a generally tubular stent body, the peaks and troughs taking a generally longitudinal direction along the cylinder, and a plurality of curvilinear interconnecting elements connecting adjacent band-like elements, each interconnecting element having a first end and a second end, the first end extending from the side of a peak region of a band-like element to the side of a trough region of an adjacent band-like element, wherein the first and second ends are displaced circumferentially along the stent, wherein the plurality of undulating band-like elements comprises two different types band-like elements, wherein a first band-like element has more peaks and/or troughs than a second band-like element.
