PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce operation loads when bending a bend section in the maximum bend direction.
SOLUTION: A signal line 30 for transmitting imaging signals of an imaging element is housed in a first housing space 74. A laser white light source is used as a light source unit for illuminating the inside of a body cavity, and the optical fiber 70 of a light guide 63 to be inserted into an insertion section is made narrower than before. The two optical fibers 70 are coated with a common shell 79 and housed in a second housing space 75. In a third housing space 75, an air/water supply channel 62 to be used for supplying air and water is housed. A fourth housing space 77 disposed in the maximum bend direction of the bend section 20 is a free housing space not housing any built-in elements, and the operation loads when bending the bend section 20 in the maximum bend direction are reduced.
