The invention relates to a strain of Trichoderma harzianum Td50b, deposited with the deposit number NCAIM (P) F 001412, which produces the exohydrolases involved in the degradation of plant material and presents antagonism against pathogens of ornamental crops, including through synthesis of odorant volatile compounds with antifungal activity. The strain was used to produce a controlled release compositions that promote the colonization of the material intended to be composted, assuring the survival of propagules not-liberated after the initial colonization of the substrate with the strain producing fungistatic volatiles compounds, including for the dormant propagules of the same strain, and, on the end, accelerate the obtainment process of composts intended to be used for mulching of the ornamental crop soil, in order to protect them against the attack of pathogen agents.
