It is intended to provide a method of producing rooted cuttings which is applicableto a tree belonging to the family of . More specifically, a methodof producing rooted cuttings of a tree belonging to the family of which comprises the following steps A and B is provided. A. The step of externallyadding a cytokinine to the shoot apex of short branches of a tree belonging to thefamily of and thus inducing the formation of new leaves and/orprimary leaves. B. The step of trimming short branches in which new leaves and/orprimary leaves have been formed in the above step A, pressing these trimmed branches,that are employed as cuttings, to a rooting bed having been moistened with a liquidmedium containing nitrogen, phosphor and potassium as the essential elementsbut being free from a carbon source, and culturing in a culture container at a humidityof 80% or higher while controlling the carbon dioxide gas concentration in theculture container, thereby allowing the cuttings to root.
