PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a technique for discriminating between arteries and veins.SOLUTION: A ultrasonic measurement method comprises the steps of: detecting a scanning line directly above a blood vessel by using a reception signal of a reflection wave of an ultrasonic wave transmitted toward the blood vessel and detecting candidates of depth positions assumed to be a front wall and a rear wall of the blood vessel on the basis of the reception signal of the scanning line; and, subsequently, making a short list of a pair of blood vessel front and rear walls of the front wall and the rear wall out of the candidates, regarding the pair of blood vessel front and rear walls made in the short list as one blood vessel, performing discrimination between arteries and veins for each blood vessel and performing measurement of blood vessel function information with the blood vessel determined to be the artery as an object.【課題】動脈と静脈を識別するための技術の実現。【解決手段】血管に向けて送信した超音波の反射波の受信信号を用いて、血管直上走査線を検出し、当該走査線の受信信号に基づいて血管の前壁および後壁とおぼしき深さ位置の候補を検出する。次いで、当該候補の中から前壁及び後壁の血管前後壁対を絞り込み、絞り込んだ血管前後壁対を1つの血管とみなして血管毎に動脈/静脈の識別を行い、動脈判定した血管を対象として血管機能情報の測定を行う。【選択図】図2
