PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of suppressing reduction of a current flowing through a superconducting coil, at a time of abnormality when a power supply and the superconducting coil are disconnected, in a superconducting magnet device for generating a magnetic field by feeding a current to the superconducting coil.SOLUTION: A superconducting magnet device 10 including a superconducting coil 3 formed of a high temperature superconducting wire, a power supply 5 for feeding a current to the superconducting coil 3, and a protective device 9 capable of forming a short circuit route for short-circuiting the opposite ends of the superconducting coil 3, is installed. Subsequently, a magnetic field is generated in the superconducting coil 3, by feeding a current from the power supply 5 to the superconducting coil 3 in superconducting state. Thereafter, when abnormality of superconducting magnet device 10 is detected, or when the power supply 5 and the superconducting coil 3 are disconnected, a short circuit route is formed by the protective device 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3【課題】超伝導コイルに電流を流して磁場を発生させる超伝導磁石装置において、電源と超伝導コイルとが互いに切り離された異常時に、超伝導コイルを流れる電流の減少を抑えることができる方法と装置を提供する。【解決手段】高温超伝導線で形成された超伝導コイル3と、超伝導コイル3に電流を供給する電源5と、超伝導コイル3の両端部を互いに短絡させる短絡経路を形成可能な保護装置9とを備える超伝導磁石装置10を設置する。次に、電源5からの電流を超伝導状態の超伝導コイル3に流すことにより、超伝導コイル3に磁場を発生させる。その後、超伝導磁石装置10の異常が検出された場合、又は、電源5と超伝導コイル3とを互いに切り離す場合に、保護装置9により短絡経路を形成する。【選択図】図3
