Embodiments of the present invention relate to an apparatus for analyzing body features using a thermal image and a method for analyzing body features using the same. The apparatus comprises: an image obtaining unit obtaining a thermal image generated since a thermal imaging camera photographs a user； and a clothes-skin gap estimating unit estimating gap between clothes and skin of a second portion using color intensity of a first portion and color intensity of the second portion in the thermal image. The first portion is a portion having color intensity in a predetermined range or greater. The second portion is a portion of the clothes covering the skin of the user.실시예들은 열화상 카메라가 사용자를 촬영하여 생성된 열 영상을 획득하는 영상 획득부, 상기 열 영상 내 제1 부분의 컬러 강도와 제2 부분의 컬러 강도를 이용하여 상기 제2 부분의 옷-피부 간격을 추정하는 옷-피부 간격 추정부를 포함하되, 상기 제1 부분은 컬러 강도가 소정 범위 이상인 부분이고, 상기 제2 부분은 옷이 사용자의 피부를 덮고 있는 부분인, 열 영상을 이용한 신체 특징 분석 장치 및 이를 이용한 신체 특징 분석 방법에 관련된다.
