A method of inducing a CD8+ T response against a selected molecule bydelivering the molecule via a recombinant simian adenovirus is provided. Alsoprovided are methods of inducing interferon-.alpha. and interferon-.beta. bydelivering a recombinant simian adenovirus to a subject. The methods andcompositions of the invention are particularly well suited for prophylaxis andtreatment of infections with human immunodeficiency virus and human papillomavirus, among others, and cancer therapy.
