FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely dentistry, maxillofacial surgery, and aims at calculating the length of the dental arch of the upper jaw using classical mathematical calculation or an algorithm of computer programs. Patient is inspected. Impression of upper jaw is taken. Gypsum control-diagnostic model is produced. Dental arch width is measured between most projecting points of canines, first premolars, second premolars, first molars, second molars from vestibular and lingual sides. Dental arch depth is measured at the same levels from the point located at the centre of the cutting edge of the medial cutter to the point of intersection with the line connecting the most projecting points of the canines, the first premolars, second premolars, first molars, second molars from vestibular or lingual sides. Obtained data are used to calculate length of dental arch of upper jaw by original formula.EFFECT: method enables reducing the probability of errors when determining starting points and improving the accuracy of calculating the length of the dental arch of the upper jaw.1 cl, 3 dwg
