The invention relates to a device for growing seaweed in a volume of water such as a sea. The device comprising a frame having a plurality of growing strings attached to the frame for growing seaweed thereon. It also comprises a plurality of floating bodies that are connected to the frame. The floating bodies are arranged to maintain the frame submerged at a substantially constant depth independent of a water depth. The invention also relates to a method for growing seaweed using such a device and a system for growing seaweed comprising at least two of such devices.
