The present invention relates to a laryngeal mask airway device (1800) comprising an inflatable cuff having a generally toroidal shape and defining a central opening when inflated and an airway tube (410) extending from a proximal end to a distal end and defining an internal passageway (424). The airway tube is connected at its distal end to the inflatable cuff with the internal passageway of the airway tube in communication with the central opening of the inflatable cuff. The airway tube defines longitudinal folds (425) extending along its sides.
