The invention relates to a system for automated detection of the separation of the vulvar lips of an animal during covering or the imminence of parturition, characterised in that said system includes: i) at least one magnet (1) intended for being attached to a first vulvar lip (2) of the animal and ii) a device (3) for detecting the separation of said magnet intended for being attached to the second vulvar lip (4) of the animal, wherein said device includes an electronic circuit suitable for receiving, when in standby mode, a remotely emitted activation signal to wake up from standby mode, and for picking up the magnetic field emitted by said magnet, measuring the intensity thereof and deducing from same the distance of said magnet, and emitting a warning signal above a predefined distance threshold of said magnet relative to the device for a predetermined time.Linvention a pour objet un système pour la détection automatisée de lécartement des lèvres vulvaires dun animal lors de la saillie ou de limminence de la parturition, caractérisé en ce quil comprend i) au moins un aimant (1) prévu pour être fixé sur une première lèvre vulvaire (2) de lanimal et ii) un dispositif (3) de détection de lécartement dudit aimant prévu pour être fixé sur la seconde lèvre vulvaire (4) de lanimal, et où ledit dispositif comprend un circuit électronique apte recevoir, lorsquil est en état de veille, un signal dactivation de sortie de la mise en veille émis à distance et à capter le champ magnétique émis par ledit aimant, en mesurer lintensité et en déduire léloignement dudit aimant et émettre un signal dalerte à partir dun seuil déloignement prédéfini dudit aimant par rapport au dispositif pendant une durée de temps donnée.
