The present disclosure provides a nutritional composition comprising silica and an active agent selected from vitamin(s), mineral(s) and combination of mineral(s) and vitamin(s), the silica and the active agent forming a complex, wherein amount of the active agent released from the nutritional composition in intestinal fluid is at least 1.5 times than that released in gastric fluid. The disclosure also provides methods for preparation of such nutritional composition.
