A method and a surgical alignment system for use in the positioning of a prosthetic component on or in a bone of a subject. The system includes an intramedullary member and a jig member which are connectable to each other to position the jig member relative to the intramedullary member in a sagittal orientation. The jig 5 member includes an elongate arm and the jig member is moveable in an axial plane and at least rotatable in a coronal plane relative to the intramedullary member to align the elongate arm with the bony landmark.L'invention concerne une méthode et un système chirurgical d'alignement utilisé pour positionner un composant prothétique sur ou dans un os de sujet.
