The present invention provides a novel bag-type water holding container for steam supply use, in which almost rectangular two plastic resin films are overlaid on each other, three sides in the peripheries of the laminate of the films are sealed, and the remaining one side is rendered openable and therefore serves as an opening, said water holding container being characterized in that a non-woven fabric having vapor permeability, water resistance and bacteria barrier properties is arranged at the center of at least one of the plastic resin films, multiple hanging through-holes are provided at the opening, and a re-sealable opening/closing zipper is provided at a part of the opening which is located in the rather central position than the through-holes to thereby enable water to be held in the inside of the films. The zipper which is sealed after the supply of steam is opened, and a used culture tool or a culture solution is placed in the inside of the container, and then the zipper is re-sealed.
