A laparoscopic port device includes a compliant port body (9) having a distal and proximal end having a lumen (13) extending therethrough. The lumen has a filtering agent configured to retain or treat particulate contaminates present in insufflation gases. The laparoscopic port device further includes a valve (120,114,130,160) operatively connected with the lumen to selectively regulate flow of the insufflation gases therethrough.
