A first subject of the present invention relates to a lightening agent for keratin fibers, in particular human hair, containing in a cosmetic carrier (a) at least one carboxylic acid ester of the formula (I) (b) at minus one peroxide compound and (c) water, the agent having a pH in the range of 7.5 to 12.5. Another object of the present invention is a multicomponent packaging unit in which the aforementioned components are present in two agents (A) and (B) being made separately.
