Disclosed is a device for occluding an aperture in a body of a patient. The device includes a plurality of elongate members having proximal end portions and distal end portions, extending between a proximal and a distal termination element. Each of a plurality of elongate elements forms a proximal feature in a proximal region of the device, and a distal feature in a distal region of the device. A winding direction of each of the elongate elements is reversed between the proximal and distal features, so as to balance or remove an amount of torsional bias.
