A method and a device for setting an orthonyxia brace, the brace comprising a tension means, and one or more supports arranged for being set at an edge of the nail and for lifting and/or flattening the nail when put under tension by the tension means, said support comprising a brace, a clasp or a loop, wherein the method comprises that a bent nose pliers is used for setting the one or more supports and the device comprises the bent nose pliers which are specially designed for setting the brace in the most effective manner.
