The present invention relates to an external force detecting system and a method for driving an external force detecting system. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the external force detecting system comprises: a body unit including a plurality of the same air bags inside； a driving unit separated from the body unit and including a connector in which a plurality of penetrating holes with the same number of the air bags are formed in one side； and a plurality of ventilation paths provided with the same number of the air bags, allowing one end unit to be individually connected to each air bag of the body unit and the other end unit to be connected to each penetrating hole of the driving unit. The driving unit includes: an electric pump which expands the air bags by injecting air or contracts the air bags by discharging air through the other end unit； an air pressure sensing unit which measures air pressure for each air bag where the air of the same amount is successively injected； and a processor which controls an operation of the electric pump and detects the air bags pressed by external force applied to the body unit by comparing each measured air pressure. The present invention does not disturb a sleep state of a user.본 발명에서는 외력 검출 시스템 및 외력 검출 시스템의 구동방법이 제공된다. 일부 실시 예에 따른 외력 검출 시스템은 내부에 복수의 동일한 공기주머니를 구비하는 몸체부와, 상기 몸체부와 구분되어 별도로 구성되고, 일 측면에 상기 공기주머니와 동일한 개수의 관통홀이 형성된 커넥터를 구비하는 구동부와, 상기 공기주머니와 동일한 개수로 구성되어 일단부가 상기 몸체부의 각 공기주머니와 개별적으로 연결되고, 타단부가 상기 구동부의 각 관통홀과 연결되는 복수의 통기로를 포함한다. 이때, 구동부는 상기 타단부를 통해 공기를 주입하여 상기 공기주머니를 팽창시키거나 공기를 배출시켜 상기 공기주머니를 수축시키는 전동 펌프와, 동일한 양의 공기를 순차적으로 주입시킨 각 공기주머니에 대한 공기압을 각각 측정하는 공기압 센싱부와, 상기 전동 펌프의 동작을 제어하고, 상기 측정된 각각의 공기압을 비교하여 상기 몸체부에 대하여 가해지는 외력에 의해 가압되는 공기주머니를 검출하는 프로세서를 포함한다.
